As reported in Issue 11 (July 2021) of the Light Paper, freedom fighters have followed in the footsteps of ‘A Stand in the Park’ and created a new kind of stand – ‘A Stand at Your MP’. The first event took place on 11th June 2021 outside Keir Starmer’s office and attracted around a dozen people whilst onlookers and passing vehicles also gave their support.
‘A Stand at Your MP’ could be a more visible alternative to emailing or writing to your local elected representative, many of which toe the party line and show an unwillingness to listen to their constituents’ concerns if it goes against government policy.
